Panzergrenadier-Regiment 25 (Norrey-en-Bessin)

Armed with an MG42 general-purpose machine gun, the exhausted SS-Panzergrenadiers of SS-Hauptscharführer Wilhelm Boigk´s 3rd platoon grimly carry on the battle. 

Boigk himself was killed in action on July 4 1944. These photographs are from a set by SS-Kriegsberichter Wilfried Woscidlo taken at Rots on June 9 1944. The SS troopers are preparing for a counterattack with the Panthers of 3.Panzerkompanie/SS-Panzer-Regiment 12 of the 12.SS-Panzer-Divison Hitlerjugend.

SS-Hauptscharführer Boigk was buried at the Soldatenfriedhöf Reyes-Bazenville.
